Dr. Phuntsho Wangdi is from the picturesque valley of Paro in Bhutan. He began his education in Bhutan and earned a Bachelor's degree in Arts with English Honors from Delhi University, India. He holds a Master's degree in Public Administration from the National University of Singapore, a Master's in Education Studies from the University of Canberra, Australia, and a Master of Education from the Royal University of Bhutan. He completed his Ph.D. in Public Policy at Chiang Mai University in Thailand.
Dr. Wangdi has an extensive career background, having served as an educator, education administrator, and policymaker with the Ministry of Education under the Royal Government of Bhutan. He also played a pivotal role in developing the Bhutan Education Blueprint by taking the position of Project Manager for the Education Review Office. Additionally, he contributed to the introduction of Rover Scouts in Bhutan through a collaboration with the Bhutan-Denmark Scouts. Dr.Wangdi has also worked as an Education Consultant for edeo.Asia in Singapore and as a Mentor at the University of Canberra. He was also a Visiting Faculty at the Institute of Excellence and Development in Bhutan.
Prior to his current role as Managing Director of EduPlus, Dr. Wangdi worked as a Researcher at the University of New South Wales in Canberra, Australia. He has established himself as both an academic and a practitioner in education, public policy, and public administration. His research interests include education policy and practice, education planning and management, public policy and administration, and Gross National Happiness.
