Phuntshok Dechen Yangchen is a results-driven professional with practical experience in financial management, governance, and strategic planning. She has gained valuable understanding in both corporate and academic environments through her engagement as an Assistant Program Officer in the Department of Macro-Fiscal and Development Finance (DMDF) at the Ministry of Finance, Bhutan. Her primary responsibilities included ensuring the efficient governance and operations of 13 state-owned companies and contributing to investment and corporate governance initiatives. She also worked at the prestigious Royal Institute of Governance and Strategic Studies in Bhutan. Phuntshok holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Royal Thimphu College in Bhutan and completed a year-long engagement at Pitzer College in the USA. She also won the Global Student Entrepreneurship Award in 2019 as a business student in her college. She is pursuing a Master of Professional Accounting at Murdoch University in Australia. Phuntshok also possesses strong skills in project management, budgeting and event coordination in multicultural settings. As an Innovation and Entrepreneurship Consultant, Phuntshok’s role is to be a catalyst for innovation and entrepreneurship among youths by embracing advocacy, mentorship, skill development, and community-building roles. Also, as the Head of the Youth Wing for EduPlus, she conceptualises, creates, and co-creates youth initiatives aimed at fostering active citizenship among youths.
